Screenflow software

Posted on 13 June 2010 by admin

Last weekend I decided to jump in to the world of screen casting.  My aim is to start doing a few tutorial blogs for my UK Poker Review site.  For this I chose to use some software called screenflow.  It is a really neat bit of software for the mac that records the actions on your screen and also from a webcam or built in iSight camera.

I’m not the most patient person in the world and wanted to get up and running with the software as soon as I could.  Like with most things these days, if you want to find out how to do something you can be sure that someone has already done it on YouTube.

I found the following series of five videos really helpful to get me up and running. They cover off screen transitions, adding text, adding images and exporting the file.

You can get a demo of the software from http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm But with the demo these is a watermark in the background.  To remove the watermark you will need to buy it for $99, which is worth every penny.  I have used a wide range of software in my time, but this is so simple it is crazy.

My first attempt was for UK Poker Review, to show how Rush Poker on Full Tilt works.  View the video below or on the YouTube channel youtube.com/ukpokerreview

Probably not the best video ever made, but as a first go and something that I put together by just playing about with some of the features, I think it turned out well for a first attempt.
