So which option should you choose and which is going to get more use. Well I decided to have a look around and see what options were out there.
Camera phones offer a great opportunity to take them all important party snaps without the bother of having to carry round an expensive or bulky camera. With the quality of the camera phone always increasing, it is a fantastic way to take the pictures you want when you have not taken out your compact camera. Many of today’s phones now offer many of the features of a normal compact digital cameras offer. These include: Flash, face recognition and red eye reduction. After looking round at numerous reviews online and trying the phones out in the shops, my current top 3 would be: Nokia the N96, Sony Ericson C905 and LG KC910 Renoir.

The downside to camera phones is the lag or shutter speed that they offer. This delay will cause blurred pictures, meaning you can miss that picture of your mate dancing like a fool on the dance floor or important shot of your team scoring the winning goal.
Compact Digital cameras are a better alternative to the camera phone. The reason for this is the shutter speed that will allow you to capture the better quality picture. Whilst many of the compact digital cameras offer the same megapixel as the top camera phones it is this shutter speed and face recognition technology that allows for a better quality picture time and time again. SLR Digital cameras offer a higher end image capture and it is what all professional photographers use when snapping up images. They are more bulky than a normal camera, but the better images that they produce are worth the extra space they take up. SLR Cameras I would recommend taking a closer look at include the Cannon EOS 450D, Nikon D80 and if it is your first SLR take a look at the Nikon D40. With SLR cameras you can extra lenses for the professional shots, but even as a stand alone camera they capture a much clearer and better picture. Action pictures are miles better. If you are new to SLR digital cameras I would recommend an entry level camera and work your way up from there.
